Heartbroken, Dory wanders to the surface and is captured by some rescuers from the Marine Life Institute. Angry, Marlin blames her for nearly endangering Nemo and claims that "forgetting things" is all she is good at. Getting stuck in plastic six-pack rings, Dory pulls Marlin and Nemo to safety. As they try to escape, Nemo is captured and nearly killed. Her excitement, however, awakens a giant squid. She wants Marlin to help her, and after being reminded of what happened to Nemo, he joins in.Īfter taking the California Current, with the help of an old friend, Crush, Dory remembers that her parents' names are Jenny and Charlie. While unconscious, Nemo hears her mention "the Jewel of Morro Bay, California," and these magic words remind Dory that she is still looking for her family. Gay, lesbian, straight - in the world of Dory, and Pixar for that matter, none of those labels matter one bit. If this trailer is any indication, the happy couple out for a walk with their toddler daughter - whose stroller gets commandeered by a pacifier-sucking octopus - is not the point. So, concerned parents: what do you need to say to your kids about this? (What's next? Disney princesses breastfeeding in public?!) Still, it's a pretty major step toward normalizing the LGBT community to the masses. (Though, to be fair, the title character is voiced by one of the most famous lesbians on the planet, Ellen DeGeneres).
